why oh why would any manager take one of the most creative players we have, (Matthews) albeit a little shaky in defense on times, off the park and bring on the least creative player we have in the squad bar none, is it because.....
Matthews is injured
Matthews the 1.5million investment needs to be protected
Jones is a brainless tw*t who knows f**k all about winning a game from behind

Hmm, I'm a fan and I've played the game to a decent level, and by playing the game means I 'know' the game, but by being a fan means I don't. Hmmm, Davey boy, make up your mind.
I do know one thing, though. I did say that you had a hard job after you weren't allowed to strengthen in January, however, when you make absolute shit decisions, and don't make changes - I'm sorry but you've only got yourself to blame.
If and when Pinnochio Pete fucks off, do us a favour and f**k off with him!!

Dave Jones is the most arrogant manager we've had in donkeys years. I'm sick to death of his
excuses Its always the fans, the officials, the players or the board. NEVER does he take it on
the chin and say HE might be at fault. I am also sick of him playing the sad old child abuse line.
"You think this is pressure? HA try going through what me and my family went through blah blah blah"
It was a shocking episode, a disgrace and nobody should be subjected to what he went through. But if
its THAT prevalent in his mind whenever things go wrong I think he needs to get a job out of the public
eye.
He should have walked after City blew the play-offs last season, he didnt, because in his own mind he
did nothing wrong. Not his fault you see.
Oh and DONT try telling Dave anything about football lads, your not qualified to offer an opinion, you
never played for Everton!

He didn't blame the ref for the defeat.
He said that the referee's decision DID NOT cost us the game and that both sides had bad decisons.
But hey why let the facts get in the way.
That would have spoiled your headline wouldn't it

@Elwood
With all due respect, stating the ref didn't cost us the game then ranting endlessly about how useless the ref was is an incredibly dumb tactic used by schoolchildren.
"I'm not blaming the ref but the ref was useless..."
It's yet another quite frankly pathetic rant from a so called professional unable to take any criticism, unable to look within for reasons for poor form, results etc.

Nerd
With all due respect this thread was another excuse to attack the manager for no reason whatsoever.
I'm not from the camp which thinks the manager can do no wrong and I have my own views on what he does right or otherwise.
But all he did was to pass comment o what he saw a a poor referring performance wiht not a single hint that he was blaming the ref for our performance.
To use these remarks as an excuse to attack DJ is, to copy your words, frankly pathetic

the ref didnt have a poor game though. only mistake i can think of was the keeper got a slight touch on a shot from whitts maybe towards the end.
that doesnt warrent a tongue lashing in a post match interview.
the ref shoud come out and say with all respect dave. you dont have a plan B, you cant motivate your own team, you are not GOD. your on a wage i could only dream of.
REF 4-1 DJ ( and could have been more)

I only listened to a bit of the match but even then I heard the commetators say that he should have booked Carcy Blake for a bad challenge then 2 minutes later he booked Gerrard for a tackle that wasn't as bad. So there could well have been more. Be that as it may it's all a matter of opinion and DJ is perfectly entitled to his
It doesn't negate my poin that nothing he said in those comments balmed the ref for the defeat. It's just those with their own agendas making it so.
