Such a good player, shame to see his talent go to waste.
Think he may of got a call up with the England squad if he'd been fully fit. Much better than Carlton Cole/Emile Heskey on his day.

I remember he did get a call up to the full England squad, only to pull out with an injury. Toward the end, in his last few games, it seemed he was injuring himself just kicking a ball. It must have been heart wrenching for him to announce his retirement, I feel so sorry for him
