I'm not sure what the tax situation is, but I'm sure the majority of people would rather pay less tax than more - or at least put it off if they could!

I think Ridsdale paid around 11p a share for his shares, so if this 9p offer is accurate he will have made a loss on the shares I think.
It won't be taxable, as he will have made a loss so theoretically he could offset it against his personal tax.

Actually having said that, it's alleged he 'bought' shares from WH Sports in his own name for a small amount - so in that case I would have thought he paid a lot less than 9p and may well have to be taxed

In other words, I'm not sure

Ridsdales 10% would be worth around £360,000 (before tax  )

WH Sports owes a net total of £387,407.82

On the face of it no. Also remember he is £20,000 out of pocket for buying the shares in the first place.

I believe the original £500,000 bonus in 2007 was paid through WH Sports in cash which was converted into shares. I assume Ridsdale should have paid tax then on that bonus but it it appears that he didn't.

He was an employee of CCFC paying PAYE when he received his £100,000 bonus last year and should have passed the 40% tax onto the HMRC, but of course we know he didn't.....
