Annis and the March - An Apology

Mon Mar 15, 2010 10:38 am

Yesterday, in a post on the Cardiff City Mad message board in reply to a question from Nigel Harris, I made some comments about the march which took place before the Middlesbrough game. In retrospect, those comments were very poorly structured and could have easily given the impression that I was labelling the organisers of the march and those who took part in it as hooligans.

I would like to assure everyone that was certainly not my intention. However, having re-read what I wrote yesterday, I can fully understand why some people have reached that conclusion. Therefore, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to the organisers of the march, to those who took part in it and to my friend Annis Abraham Jnr in particular for any offence caused.

What I was attempting to do in my post was explain to Nigel why I had reservations about the march beforehand and how I believed it could have been portrayed by the local and national media had any problems occurred on the day. Nevertheless, I can fully understand why my comments were misconstrued, as they were presented so poorly.

For the record, I thought the march appeared well-organised and I was very pleased that it passed off peacefully. Some of my closest friends took part in the event, as did several members of the Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust board on which I serve.

I was concerned beforehand that there might have been problems of one sort or another during the march, and I know at least one of the organisers shared similar fears, but thankfully the event went very well and was a credit to those who arranged it and participated in it.

I would like to underline the fact that all of my views regarding the march and any other demonstrations are my own and not those of the Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust.

I just posted this in another thread, please rad lads -
Let sleeping dogs lie. I think there is no doubt that we all love our football club and we all have different views some stronger than others. Everybody will never agree on everything. There is no wrong way or any right way to deal with an issue. I've never personally met this TLG character and have had a little spat with him myself on here but I have no doubt when all is said and done he is probably a nice fella. It's just when football is the issue there can sometimes be strong arguments on all sides and big egos as well. If you want my opinion Annis and TLG, meet up shake hands (I would have no problem doing that with Dave) and have a pint together, talk football, but talk about the good times not the bad. Because if press reports and rumours on here are true we will soon be under new ownership in some form or another and we will be run by people who know how to run a business properly. There can only be happy times ahead for us all as supporters, they certainly couldn't get much worse. Come on lads let bygones be bygones eh?

Fair Play to TLG - It takes bollocks to first admit you were wrong and then publically come out with a written apology

Theres a few people that could learn alot from this

Time to move on

Today the world seems a better place, fans getting on (again), Malaysian Investment (fingers crossed), Ridders on the way (fingers crossed) and players on the way back, McPhail, Whit's, Ledley (fingers crossed).

Can Cardiff time things right, and have the Gypos have peaked just a little early (fingers crossed).

Never a dull moment supporting City, it's going to be an interesting end to the season, ONWARDS & UPWARDS !!!!!!!
