Just saw on Newsnight now and it will appear in the papers tomorrow that petrol will rise to £5.41 a gallon. Just wondered whether this would effect our prices on away coaches and whether people would bother going away as the game is getting more expensive anyway.

Yes highest in Europe, but with higher petrol prices, the food goes up and all this without us paying more taxes soon to pay off our large UK debts. Just think that people will stop going to football soon and a lot of clubs will be in financial ruin. We will be soon taxed to death if we havent been already. It makes me so mad.

it's a joke and we are getting fleeced in this country.
In the Canarie's it is currently 71 Cents a litre for diesel and 84 Cents a litre for unleaded.
where's the fooking protests! £1.15 a litre now!
Govt see us motorists as an easy target and its getting beyond a joke now.

Perhaps there is a need for some continental-style protest and direct action. The British are a tolerant bunch and that can work against us, fuel prices being just one example. Having built up a reputation in the EU as a nation associated with lower taxes and relative public sector efficiency, the UK is firmly headed in the opposite direction. With a sky high public sector deficit, I wouldn't expect reduced fuel taxes any time soon.

something needs to happen soon as its really biting into mine and probably other peoples travel budget who require a car as a necessity not a luxury.
The quietness on this from joe public is deafening though, is everyone accepting these fuel prices that are creeping up and up?
