Darren Bent has just over 2 years left on his contract at Villa ...and is on around £80,000 a week

Bent will want to have a chance of getting back into the England set up and his wage demands would be ridiculous. There's no way he will make the drop to the Championship. And Lampards demands would be even higher, no way will he be coming.

I don't care what people say, our owners will spend I feel just like QPR's and I fear we could go down the same stupid path as QPR by giving older players like Bent (28) £80,000 salaries to try and achieve promotion and stay up.

I would not be surprised if we loaned Bent to be honest with a deal to buy if we get promoted.

Our owners have already told us what colour we should wear to support our club and what badge we must have so it would not surprise me if they also told Malky who was being signed. It seems the in thing where the owners get power hungry and start to use their 'toy' in a more ways and then start sorting out transfers themselves.

That is my only fear. I've reluctantly accepted the rebrand but will lose complete faith and respect for them if they start buying players for their profile against Malky's wishes. He has been allowed free selection so far and has brought in low profile names and has got the best out of them. We do not need any ego's at the club like under Jones.
