Thats why he aint gone yet coz they dont want to give it to him

We may well have to pay off his contract, but whether that will be a million I don't know. What we have to remember is that he is a pretty large shareholder, so In my opinion the figures touted around are more likely to be to buy his shares rather than just a payoff. I may well be wrong, but it would make more sense

tell him we give him half mill and if we get prom we giv him another half mill
then wait for 2 weeks and say sorry no money in the cofers
