First of all thought are with whoever was on board.

It's disconcerting that there has not been anything from Cardiff/Nantes/the player/agent to allay any fears that Sala may have been on board.

The longer that goes on the worse those fears become.

It's too much of a coincidence I'm afraid.
I would imagine that CCFC have phone numbers, and surely they would have made contact with someone.
Plane manifests would be the first check .

Cardiff City have told Sky News they are seeking clarification over reports that footballer Emiliano Sala was on a light aircraft that disappeared from radar in the English Channel last night.

Air Traffic Control have confirmed the aircraft was travelling from Nantes in western France to Cardiff when it went missing.
A journalist from Ouest France tweeted to say Sala had been on the plane - but there has been no confirmation.

Concerns were raised when the 28-year-old Cardiff forward failed to respond to messages on social media.

The Argentinian made club history when he was bought for a record fee on a three-and-a-half year deal from Nantes during the January transfer window.

It is believed he was travelling on Monday to the UK.

Cardiff City are 'genuinely concerned' that their record signing Emiliano Sala was on board a private jet which disappeared near the Casquets lighthouse on Monday evening.

Sala signed for the club in a £15m deal on Saturday.

The plane was travelling from Nantes to Cardiff when it went off the radar.

A spokeswoman for HM Coatguard said they were assisting Guernsey Coastguard with a search for a light aircraft off Alderney.

"HM Coastguard helicopters from Solent and Newquay have been helping to search overnight with nothing found," she said.

The Met Office said that at the time the plane went missing "there were some showers around, but nothing too intense".

"Wind speeds were not too bad - average speeds were around 15 to 20mph,"

There are growing concerns new Cardiff striker Emiliano Sala was on board an aircraft that has gone missing.

Sky Sports News understands the club were expecting their new £18m signing to travel back to Cardiff on Monday night.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, emergency services in the Channel Islands reported that a small plane travelling from Nantes in France to Cardiff had gone missing near the island of Alderney.

Authorities say the Piper Malibu, which is believed to have two people on board, disappeared from radar near the Casquets lighthouse at about 8:30pm on Monday, Guernsey Police said.
A search and rescue operation is now underway

HM Coastguard said the incident was not in the UK search and rescue area, although it confirmed it had sent two helicopters to help.

"HM Coastguard are currently assisting Guernsey Coastguard with a search for a light aircraft off Alderney in the Channel Islands," a spokeswoman said.

"HM Coastguard helicopters from Solent and Newquay have been helping to search overnight with nothing found."

Cardiff completed the signing of Sala from Nantes on Saturday on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Fans of the Argentine player have have expressed their concerns after Cardiff City Football Club said they had "genuine concerns" and are "seeking clarification" over 28-year-old Sala, who recently signed to the club. The plane, a Piper Malibu, was travelling from Nantes in France to Cardiff in Wales. According to the BBC, the Piper Malibu with two people on board lost contact near the Casquets lighthouse around eight miles north-west of Alderney, the northernmost of the inhabited Channel Islands, at 8.30pm.
Reports of the missing plane quickly sparked concerns for Argentine striker Emiliano Sala over speculation he was due to travel to the Welsh city last night.

It comes just days after Cardiff announced the signing of the Nantes forward for club-record £15million on Saturday.

The is not the time for guesswork and/or assumption, so let's have a little respect for WHOEVER is on board that flight and pray that it all turns out okay for them

The club/media will update as they have any news and we don't need to add to the mix; particularly pathetic and ill-conceived 'jokes'

Let's also try to keep it all on one single thread, please!
