Which goal have you cheered most?

Postby Pantmawr Bluebird » Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:06 pm

Which goal do you think you have celebrated the most when following City?

Zohore v Southampton in the Prem?
Play off v Leicester?
FA Cup semi final?
Liverpool Carling Cup final?

A weird one but I'm gonna say Kenny Miller v West Ham away :laughing6: :laughing6:

Pretty equal between Chopra v Swansea, Scott Young v Leeds but probably Ben Turner in the League Cup Final. Also Brian Clark v Real Madrid but that was so long ago I can't remember!

All of the above plus Joe Ledley's winner in the FA Cup Semis and for those that can remember it, John Buchanan's late winner in the 1977 FA Cup tie at home to Wrexham after the Robins had equalised near the end of the match. Oh and Andy Campbell's play-off winner was worthy of a loud and prolonged cheer too !!

Same here. Seen better goals but this is the one that stands out for me. I don't think any of us thought we had much of a chance over two legs, but ended up being so close.

Joe Masons in the final sprung to mind.

Then a Rudy going, can't remember the game or who we played but it was a home game toward the end of the promotion season and was the goal I really believed we were going up.

Yes my head almost blew off, and the ground moved, I fell off my chair!

You had to stand on the chair as everyone else was in lower grandstand block A/B, probably the whole ground.

It's a hell of a question and a good one for the pub during the close season. There have been a fair few over the years, but Clark's goal to beat Real Madrid has to be the one for me. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Was it the 3-0 against Forest, they had someone sent off i think and Rudy scored twice!

Mine is somewhere up there between Chopra, Ben Turner and for some reason Reading away in the last promotion season when Bennett & Tomlin scored two late late goals to get us a point, was b*stard freezing, start of a hangover kicking in and when the ref blew his whistle & pointed back to the center spot the whole away end turned into absolute mayhem.

Chopra, Campbell, young even Eddie Johnson against derby all up there.
Kurt Nogan against Hartlepool was up there. We’d gone 2-1 down in the 88th min give or take, nogan equalised in the 89th and banged a winner in the 92nd. The corner by the floodlight was packed out that day for those who’d stayed.

It was indeed 3-0 against Forest and I thought it was Greg Halford who had been sent off. However on checking, it was Darius Henderson who got his marching orders.

Ben Turner's at Wembley

Scott Young's and Andy Campbell's were special, but Turners goal at Wembley was something else.

Spot on. Every winning goal aginst the Jacks come miles before any other goals and that one is top.

Aside from the Jack goals for me it was probably Hudson goal against Derby just because it was so ridiculous good and I had drove back from a holiday in North Wales to go to that game before driving back made it worthwhile
