Manchester City is disappointed but not surprised by today’s announcement by the UEFA Adjudicatory Chamber. The Club has always anticipated the ultimate need to seek out an independent body and process to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence in support of its position.
In December 2018, the UEFA Chief Investigator publicly previewed the outcome and sanction he intended to be delivered to Manchester City, before any investigation had even begun. The subsequent flawed and consistently leaked UEFA process he oversaw has meant that there was little doubt in the result that he would deliver. The Club has formally complained to the UEFA Disciplinary body, a complaint which was validated by a CAS ruling.

Simply put, this is a case initiated by UEFA, prosecuted by UEFA and judged by UEFA. With this prejudicial process now over, the Club will pursue an impartial judgment as quickly as possible and will therefore, in the first instance, commence proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport at the earliest opportunity.

Can't say I have any sympathy with this club and their Arab owners. This has been coming for a long time. If the appeal proves unsuccessful, I expect Pep will move on in the summer.

Wow. They will be after a new manager then!

That's 2 major sports competitions coming down hard on big clubs for breeches. Saracens in rugby now Man city. Organisations getting tougher

Can't be the only ones.

All sorts happening at those 'top' clubs. They all think they're above the rules.

From this, Chelsea poaching youngsters (they all do), Liverpool cancelling a sponsorship deal through the courts...

Makes you wonder why we all want success.

As we are now out of Europe should all our clubs say we are not entering any euro football competitions. Food for thought.

Not really as we are still part of Europe. We left the EU which is a trading block , Europe is a continent. EUFA football has nothing to do with the EU.

We are still a European country and always will be

Cheating fuckers. Strip them of their premiership titles as well.

Money talks, this will be squashed with a slap on the wrist.

Need to scrap all the FFP rules, whats the point? Its not a level playing field and will never be. If an owner wants to spend a fortune why hide it in double speak and clever accounting. Madrid, Barca and PSG outspend the opposition, how if we are meant to believe the premier league has the highest revenue TV deals can they do it ?

I take it Man City didn't make suitable donations to the right people.

We all know this won't be enforced.

This is exactly what I was told by fans based in Manchester a couple of years ago when this was coming to light. They were so cocky about paying their way out of trouble if a ban was ever made. Clubs with unlimited funds like Man City leave a bad taste in the British game.

They will appeal. The ban will be
suspended pending the appeal hearing. That will take a few months , within that time they will have already qualified for the next tournament. They will lose the appeal then take it to CAS. That will take even longer and by that time everyone will have had enough of it, they will reduce the ban to 1 season which will be backdated meaning they wont actually miss any tournaments. All they will end up with is a fine which is tiny compared to the earnings they get by breaking rules

Didnt the same happen to chelsea with the transfer ban

Their fan are shit and don’t turn up for the European games anyway so it deserves them right. Though they will probably appeal and be in it next season.

Reckon it will be 1 year and a big fine. Will he stay on though? Personally I don’t mind Man City as the poor folk of Manchester rise up, but they’ve bought it all the way.

Man City were expecting the ruling. They will go to CAS and have been completely contemptuous of UEFA.

Not unlike us holding back on paying a transfer fee.

And Wales shouldnt play in Euros? What a bonkers post. Loads of non EU countries are part of UEFA. How about a ban on holidaying in EU countries whilst you're at it.
