If only Ninian was always like that, always hostile but that night it was brimming with hostility in every stand.
Did he really say that?

I'm pretty sure he did,but even if he didn't, it easy published  have to say,I've been to a few matches in Turkey, and the derby day hostile atmosphere is scarey shit, loved it don't get me wrong, but still had me on my toes!! That night against leeds though is the best I've seen at Ninian park,it was simply electric, got shivers now, thinking of them games, fantastic memories that will stay with me forever  :old: :bluebird:

Somehow I found myself in the Grandstand for that game and no word of a lie, there were 60-70+ years of age guys spitting nails and going beserk!

Rio definitely said something along those lines and that atmosphere will never be repeated at any game in this country ever again.....it was so toxic even I was worried, and I was on the right side.
Not a shred of evidence exists in favour of the idea that life is serious........

Was in the lower grandstand right by Leeds fans. That bugger undercover I hit his camera with my jumper with the second goal. Take my daughters now and love it. But them times were something different.

Leeds fans hate the fact that really was the beginning of the end for them, they never recovered from that game.
The scenes at the end,the car park,Sam Hammam et al was off the scale.
When viduka scored I thought that was it,but the thing I remember most was the continuous song about the leeds player who we thought should be in jail to the tune of “Hey baby,i wanna know if you’ll be my girl”
Someone remind me who that player was ?

The atmosphere was acrid. My unborn daughter was kicking in my wife’s stomach throughout. I’ll never forget that match :bluescarf:

It was as intense an atmosphere as I’ve experienced in the UK. An atmosphere that football was trying to move away from long before it. The surge in the grange end nearly broke my ribs on both goals.

The fallout from the game and its representation on the football hooligans documentary was huge. Crying Leeds fans on national television

Andy Gray on sky commentary said something like

"I've been to Milan, Turkey and the biggest venues across Europe but I have never ever been in a ground with an atmosphere like this half an hour before kick off"

Remember watching it back.

With the tv cameras being in the bob bank and around 15 ft above the singing hordes it used to make me laugh when the commentators used to say “apologies for any bad language picked up”

Awesome. Electric. Hectic. Frenetic. Winning goal went in. None of us knew who scored. Manic.
