UPDATED:

It’s been nearly 3 years since Peter Whittingham left our club and Whitt’s was promised a testimonial match.

In today’s age it’s ivery rare a player plays for a club for 10years and Whitt’s, his family, close friends and our fans deserve to give Whitt’s an amazing send off , Cardiff City v Aston Villa :bluebird: :bluebird:
This is the least our club can do.
Please everyone campaign for it :thumbright: :bluebird:

Think the club should now FINALLY give Peter Whittingham his testimonial (Preferably against Villa) and give all proceeds to his wife and young family. Thanks for the memories Whitts... RIP..

This is not just about finances, this will also be a fitting send off for player who played for over 10 years for our club and show his family how much he was loved :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Totally agree.

Would be a great opportunity to say a proper farewell to one of Cardiff's best loved players.

This is absolutely heartbreaking, and I’m sure we’ll never see the likes of him at our club ever again.

Thanks for everything Whitts, thoughts with your family at this awful time.

Retire 7, get him a statue, name a stand after him. Any and all would be fitting for someone who gave so much to our club.

RIP Pete

This would be so fitting for a true legend.

If any of you are interested, we have a petition going to build Whitts a statue in his honour. We have over 500 signatures so far.

We as a club have had a run of tragic deaths of young ex-players in past couple of years. Matthew Brazer, Chris Barker, Emiliano Sala and now Peter Whittingham.

Obviously the present crisis would have to pass but a game to honour all four players against a high profile team would be a fitting tribute.

Is it coincidental that when we signed Whitts we emerged upon our most successful and productive 10 years of our history. Our evergrowiing crowds loved him and his style of play and witnessed some amazing goals. A city true legend that deserves a fitting send off.

Sorry disagree with this completely. It’s has to be about Whitt’s and only him. It’s what he has earned and deserves shoe horning him with someone else would be disrespectful to him.

A fantastic idea and a match I wouldn’t miss for the world, however unless things drastically change and Covid is in decline at this rate we won’t be seeing any football for a long time
