Who’d do better ?
Lockdown should happen tonight / tomorrow and it should have happened a few days ago. Apart from that, what else can he do?

Annis - Exactly the same here in the south of Spain.

You can get virtually everything you need no panic buying.

Had people observed the guidelines from the beginning then I am sure the virus would not have spread so quickly across Spain.

Very similar to UK now - hence why they will end up in lockdown. If Boris had been decisive a few weeks ago instead of encouraging herd mentality then the UK would not be in the situation it is now.

Possibly, but you haven’t really answered mate.
Hopefully we can ride through this with as few casualties as possible and then we can start the curve and there’ll be some optimism at last.
My son works in a hospital as a pharmacist and he said that PPE has at last arrived. Thank the Lord.
Not a time to argue mate so I wish you all the best.

I think him being reactive has been his biggest strength.. it something new to everyone on the planet so anyone that thought they had all the answers on day one shouldn't be in charge of a wheel barrow

The more reactive he is, the less control he has over the crisis. His wishy washy rules about taking 1 trip out for exercise will encourage people to think it’s ok to ignore it. You can’t trust enough people to act maturely. The police are going to be 40% down through sickness. People needed earlier, stricter and clearer direction

its been clear enough , maybe not adhered to as was hoped, but as for earlier and stricter the aim is to manage it so that the NHS is not over run like has happened elsewhere. . its been every countries aim as there is no cure .
so yes a virus that most of us are going to get that will kill probably thousands here that's never been dealt with before and a health service which does not have infinite ICU capacity... .behind Boris there are a team of top medical and scientific experts and behind them hundreds of people crunching numbers for different scenarios going forward based on whats just happened here and elsewhere. decisions are not toss a coin or whimsical ..so of course it has to be reactive. nobody absolutely nobody knows how many deaths there are going to be here tomorrow or new cases needing an ICU bed in Italy.. if anyone knew all the answers it would be sorted.

But he has put pressure on the police to judge whether people have had 1 exercise session or 2 as well as disperse groups greater than 2. People are dying, but not through lack of exercise.

I used to think that people should be able to personally risk assess the impact of going out, but since the reports of people licking food on shelves and coughing in the face of older people and police officers (admittedly a minority), I no longer do.
