UK police will fine you £30 for disobeying any Govt orders.

Zero Tolerance :thumbright:

If you reoffend in Spain its 6months - to 1 yr in jail.

Spanish Police on the spot fine 200euros for being out without papers on you and if you ignore them its a whopping 30,000euro fine

If you don’t pay the on the spot fine off 200euros they either impound your car or if no car take you to a cash point or to your home for it. If they fail then lock up time.

We have just seen this morning that Calviá Police have issued over 200 fines since the lockdown began ranging from 100-600 € each including the 5 Germans have in a bar in Peguera fined 600€ each serves them right.

Germans are opening a bar in calle Palmira in Peguera, glad they got fined and owner 30,000euros or loses bar.

It’s a whole different world here with the lockdown. Someone I know was trying to cross the border between Spain and Gibraltar for work and returning home they impounded the car and refused entry back to Spain.

The whole fines things is the way they operate with speeding fines - you pay or they take car or bike of you there and then - no room for appeal. You pay as well cause they normally have a gun with them.

I have had friends followed when going to supermarkets and pharmacies.

It’s sounds Harsh Dobbins, but this zero tolerance works.

Yes they do the same here.

Worrying that this is happening. I fear the virus in Spain will get worse before better

Coronavirus: Spanish army finds care home residents 'dead and abandoned'

Employees of a mortuary enter the crematorium of La Almudena cemetery with a coffin of a person who died of coronavirus disease in Madrid, March 23, 2020

BBC

Tuesday 22nd March 2020

Madrid's main funeral home says its workers lack the equipment to deal with Covid-19 victims

Spanish soldiers helping to fight the coronavirus pandemic have found elderly patients in retirement homes abandoned and, in some cases, dead in their beds, the defence ministry has said.
Spanish prosecutors said an investigation had been launched.
The military has been brought in to help disinfect care homes in Spain, one of Europe's worst hit countries.
Meanwhile, an ice rink in Madrid is to be used as a temporary mortuary for Covid-19 victims, officials said.
The virus is spreading very fast in Spain - the second worst-hit European country after Italy.
On Tuesday, the health ministry announced that the number of deaths had risen by 514 in the past 24 hours - a daily record.
A total of 2,696 people have now died and there are 39,637 confirmed cases.

I think it looks more serious in Spain, hopefully, here we can get it just right and not take such drastic action as Italy and Spain.

I have a theory a lot of it is down to people living in flats and infecting each other in the communal areas, the coverage here showed loads of Italians and Spanish in flats.

London has 50% of the UK figures again many people living on top of each other and in high rise flats.

I would come down harder in the Capital and completely lockdown London, and carry on with the rest of the country with a less forceful approach.

When I lived in Seville, Spain the cops where very harsh on their own. They did not tolerate any locals getting drunk and walking the streets. However it was different for us Brits as we were a source of amusement for them when we got drunk We would be drunk usually about a hour before the locals rose from their siestas. So when the nightlife was starting to pick up us Brits would be well out of it. Fortubately the cops showed us a load of tolerance and if any of us was lost which happened quite a lot, they would pick us up and take us back to our apartements. All the cops knew us, were we lived and had a damn good laugh at our expense.

That’s an interesting theory mate.
Good news is that as well as the dropping cases in Andulucia / Mallorca, Italy has had its lowest increase in cases for a good while. This coincided with a doctor on ‘This Morning’ saying that she thinks that in 2-3 weeks we will start to see an improvement. Not necessarily a drop in cases but a decrease, which seems to go with the theory that we’re 2 weeks or so behind Italy.
Think it may be just a case of holding onto your hats for 2 weeks or so and STAY IN where possible.

London is our main problem, they need to lock it down and come down hard as it's a real problem there and will get worse looking at the pictures on the tubes this morning.

Jon White:

22 March at 15:37 · City of Sunderland, United Kingdom
Since yesterday morning Tyne and Wear Fire Service Control have handled over 300 calls and the crews have attended almost 100 fires maliciously set to wheelie bins, trees and parkland by groups of children and youths. When EVERYONE is meant to be #socialdistancing why are parents/guardians allowing their children to run wild? This not only means our crews aren’t available for life risk calls it also puts them in danger of being exposed to Covid-19. Take some responsibility.
