Forest fans took to the forums and taunted Neil Harris about last nights failure to make it to the final.
Other Forest fans said how Forest will be far stronger than Cardiff City next season.
'Should have brought on Albert' - Nottingham Forest taunt Cardiff City boss Neil Harris after play-off failure
Some fans even posted and taunted, "You cant win promotion on freebies and other clubs players, maybe if you spent some money you would actually be successful."
Where's Albert, Neil?
For the second successive night, Nottingham Forest fans took some solace in the fact one of their Championship rivals failed to grasp their play-off chance.
The night before it was Swansea who eventually fell at Brentford, and last tonight, it was the turn of Neil Harris and Cardiff City.
Despite a deserved 2-1 win at Fulham on the night, Cardiff went down 3-2 on aggregate in the capital with Scott Parker’s men setting up an all-west London final with Brentford at Wembley on Tuesday for a place in the Premier League.
Pressure on after making major Lamouchi call
Sabri Lamouchi is to stay on as Nottingham Forest head coach, being given a chance to build on his first season in English football.
The Frenchman’s future had been in doubt following the Reds’ spectacular collapse during the final run-in, which saw them fail to secure a play-off place.
But the club have opted to keep faith with Lamouchi, who still oversaw Forest’s best league finish for almost a decade.
What Ben Watson has said on his future
Ben Watson’s future is one of the key subjects Sabri Lamouchi will look to resolve at Nottingham Forest, now it’s understood he’s set to remain head coach at the City Ground.
Experienced midfielder Watson is out of contract and is the subject of interest from QPR who are managed by former Reds chief Mark Warburton, and while Forest remain keen to keep him, the lure of a longer-term deal closer to his home in the south east could be tempting.
Steele in demand...
Out-of-contract Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Luke Steele is said to be the subject of “a bit of interest”.
The shot-stopper’s deal with the Reds is set to expire, with no suggestion a new one is in the offing.
Steele spent last season on loan at Millwall, rejoining them in January after his first spell had come to an end, while the last time he wore the Garibaldi was in May 2019.
Da Costa's pledge
January arrival Nuno Da Costa believes Nottingham Forest will be stronger for their play-off heartbreak a week ago.
Da Costa forced his way into Sabri Lamouchi’s plans post-lockdown, initially having suffered with injury after making the switch from French side Strasbourg, and showed glimpses of what could be a bright future in the East Midlands.
The Cape Verde international has yet to find the net at the right end for the Reds, but did suffer the ignominy of scoring an own goal in last Wednesday’s 4-1 defeat to Stoke City as he chased valiantly back in the closing stages to help what proved to be a lost cause.
