yes mate it was pretty obvious the more you test the more positives your going to get.. especially when the increase betwwen end of March and now is times FORTY... the surprise is that it takes so long for these people to say it ?

Its becoming clear that corvid is not as deadly as in beginning otherwise positive tests would translate into deaths but as we know deaths are ever decreasing along with hospital admissions.... people are beginning to question why are authorities closing places down again when all that is happening is more positive corvid test results and not deaths! Where is the rationale for more lockdowns?

It’s totally laughable and predictable that Starmer and the scotch imp blokey (Plus presumably the Lib Dem new bloke plus the token welsh bloke) have a pop at the government over their handling of Covid but is anyone really going to take such criticism seriously?

For crying out loud this is a totally out of the blue phenomenon which nobody and I mean nobody could have predicted and dealt with to everyone’s satisfaction, so these pathetically hyper critical incompetents are grasping at thin air and looking stupid by criticising rather than supporting the total commitment to getting this nation through the pandemic.

Oh and BTW the government Brexit advisors are playing a straight bat to the torrid and frankly desperate efforts of the EU big wigs to avoid a reasonable and commercial settlement. Why can’t they just give it up and accept they’re our fish??

Parts of Greater Manchester will no longer have lockdown restrictions eased as planned following a government U-turn

England's exams regulator, Ofqual, says it warned the government of the risk of widespread dissatisfaction with its emergency grading system

It comes as millions of pupils in England and Wales return to school after the unprecedented shutdown during the coronavirus pandemic

Scotland's deputy first minister has defended a decision to keep pubs open in greater Glasgow despite new limits on social contact, saying a rise in Covid cases was driven by household contacts and not the hospitality sector

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has reassured recently elected Tory MPs there will not be a "horror show of tax rises with no end in sight", as the government deals with the costs of coronavirus

And ministers are facing pressure to decide whether tourists returning to England from Greece should quarantine, after Scotland and Wales introduced their own measures

Looks like a Rugby decision - As you said allan not expecting a 2nd wave :o - Maybe they could build one at Sophia Gardens

Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) chairman Gareth Davies says the Principality Stadium has started to be decommissioned from a field hospital.

Wales national rugby ground was turned into the Dragons Heart hospital as part of the fight against coronavirus.

Davies is confident Six Nations 2021 home matches against England and Ireland can be staged as planned.

"I am probably more optimistic than I was a couple of weeks ago," said Davies.

Build another one!! Tony This one cost 8m and only had 36 patients..... and wru not using ground this year? What's going on you have to ask as everyone is saying 2nd spike will come in winter and they're taking away facilities to cope with the expected rise in corvid cases....

Got to laugh or would end up crying! Response to different rules on self isolation in UK (greece ect) gethin (wales) says it's not upto me to explain why others haven't done it I'm just keeping Wales safe.... shapps (England) says rules are devolved and I am only responsible for england part of that..... :banghead:
Like said people are going to get fed up of constantly being messed about and will start to ignore politicians messages on corvid.

Take a look around and you will see only social distancing is when there are markers on floor telling where to stand.... other than that people dont stand two meters apart but i will say people are being very good at not invading personal space ! Is the rise because of lack of social distancing or more being tested or both?

Coronavirus: Caerphilly county sees 'worrying' rise in cases

House parties and people failing to social distance has led to a worrying rise in Covid-19 cases in a Welsh county, a health official has said.

In Caerphilly, 56 cases have been reported by Public Health Wales (PHW) over the past week, the highest number in Wales.

PHW's incident director for the virus Dr Robin Howe said it should be a "warning for the rest of Wales".

A walk-in testing facility will be set up in Caerphilly Leisure Centre.

Coronavirus: House party concerns amid rise in cases

Young people in Leeds are being urged to take responsibility for controlling the spread of coronavirus following an increase in house parties in the city.

Leeds was added to the Public Health England areas of concern as Covid rates rose to 32.5 cases per 100,000 people.

Council leader Judith Blake said there had been an increase in music events, house parties and illegal raves adding fines of £10,000 were being given.

She urged caution at a time when university students were set to return.

The city council said infections were broadly spread across its local communities, suggesting they were linked to social and leisure activities rather than single sites - with increasing numbers among people aged between 18 and 34.

Tony they havent a clue what to do its simpler to send kids home possibly putting parents out of work looking after kids than simply getting new teacher, they've been banging on
kids dont catch covid easily the situation is now getting ridiculous... authorities totally obsessed with how many positive tests there are? Rates been going up for long time but deaths and hospital admission going down but still concentrating on positive tests...Scotland no deaths in 28 days but are tightening lockdown in Glasgow because more positive tests than before! What do they expect with more testing and relying on test results that could be false in any case! They're seriously not bothered about the people just their reputation for being careful....... peoples livelihood or well being are secondary to this..

The county borough of Caerphilly is to be placed under a local lockdown from 18:00 BST on Tuesday after a "rapid" rise in coronavirus cases.

BBC

Monday 7th September 2020

People will not be able to leave or enter the borough without good reason, the Welsh Government said.

Face masks will be required for everyone over 11 in shops and people will not be able to meet indoors.
Seeing others within extended households will be banned, and no overnight stays will be allowed.

The Welsh Government said that at 55.4 cases per 100,000 population, Caerphilly county had the highest rate in Wales and one of the highest in the UK.

Lockdown restrictions extended in west of Scotland
Highest reported cases in Wales since June
Schools face more disruption over Covid-19 cases
Wales' Health Minister Vaughan Gething said the virus was circulating in the community and it was "only a matter of time before we start to see more serious cases, which need hospital treatment".
The restrictions mean people cannot enter or leave Caerphilly county borough - which includes Caerphilly town, Ystrad Mynach, Blackwood, Newbridge and Risca - without a "reasonable excuse".
That includes work, if people are unable to work from home, or making a compassionate visit to a loved one, or to give care.
Bars and restaurants are not being closed under the restrictions.
Mr Gething said there had been a "significant rise in cases" in the borough over a short space of time, linked to travel abroad and "people socialising indoors and not following social distancing guidelines".
"A lot of these cases are in younger people and thankfully, at the moment, most of these are mild," he said.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock told young people "don't kill your gran" in an interview with BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat. He made the comment as he warned the UK could see a second spike in coronavirus cases if young people don't follow social distancing rules

Travellers arriving in England from seven Greek islands will have to self-isolate for 14 days from 04:00 BST on Wednesday. They are Crete, Lesvos, Mykonos, Santorini, Serifos, Tinos, and Zakynthos (also known as Zante).

From midnight, more than 1.1 million people in Scotland will face tougher restrictions on home visits after they were extended to Renfrewshire and East Dunbartonshire

It comes as thousands of Scottish NHS workers will join a study to establish whether Covid-19 antibodies reduce the risk of reinfection

In Wales, the county borough of Caerphilly is to be placed under a local lockdown from 18:00 BST on Tuesday after a "rapid" rise in coronavirus cases

Public Health Wales said a further 133 people have tested positive for coronavirus - the highest daily number of cases in Wales since 27 June

The Football Association (FA) is investigating reports that England players Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden broke quarantine rules after a match in Iceland.

Both players made their debut for the national team in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Iceland, but were absent from training on Monday morning.

Manchester City's Foden, 21, and Manchester United's Greenwood, 18, are not expected to feature in England’s next Uefa Nations League fixture against Denmark on Tuesday.

England manager Gareth Southgate is due to hold a pre-match news conference this afternoon.

In a separate development, Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez and defender Aymeric Laporte have tested positive for Covid-19.

Mahrez and Laporte - neither of whom were displaying coronavirus symptoms - have gone into quarantine in line with UK government rules.
