I’ve been told Wilson’s wage is really £25,000 a week.

Media have hyped wages.

The £1million is only if Cardiff City are promoted to Premier League.

Why does the UK media bullshit so much.

There is no way a player who has only made 2 caribou cup appearances for Liverpool is on £50/60k a week his wages are more like £25k a week, so why do they bullshit this bad.

Cardiff City have completed the loan signing of Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

The Bluebirds have beaten off stiff competition from the likes of Swansea City, Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Norwich City to secure a deal to excite all City fans.

Cardiff will pay Premier League champions Liverpool a loan fee of £1mill to secure the player's services.

It is also understood that the Bluebirds will cover all of the Wales international's wages, which is estimated to be worth around £60,000 per week.

The deal really gathered pace when Cardiff City touched base with the Anfield outfit on Thursday, the day before the closing of the window, upon Wilson's return from international duty with Wales.

Sources have indicated that both Bluebirds manager Neil Harris and chairman Mehmet Dalman were crucial in getting the deal over the line.

Liverpool discussed Wilson's options with the player himself and his agent, but all parties were happy with what Cardiff put on the table.

Another big factor which might have perhaps slipped under the radar is how Liverpool viewed Marko Grujic's loan to Cardiff City back in their promotion season

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson set to join Cardiff City on season-long loan with Reds seeking £3m fee after Swansea had bid rejected for winger

By Simon Jones for Daily Mail

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson is in talks to join Cardiff City after they agreed terms on a loan with the Premier League champions on Thursday.

Swansea City had a bid rejected for the 23-year old Wales international on Tuesday.

Wilson, who played for Wales in their 1-0 win in Bulgaria on Wednesday, saw a move to Premier League Burnley fall down earlier in the transfer window.

Liverpool value him at £20million and Burnley were understood to have offered £8m plus add ons.

A number of Championship clubs had asked to take him on loan following his spell at Bournemouth last season.

Swansea, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Derby County have all made enquiries.

It is understood Liverpool want around £3m for the loan with penalty payments if Wilson fails to play a certain amount of games.

Meanwhile, Swansea City are in talks with Bristol City over a deal for midfielder Kasey Palmer

I can't see us paying £3 million for a loan deal so I'd say this is wide of the mark.

Maybe we would pay £1 million, which I still find staggering, but £3 million is ridiculous

The 3m may reflect his salary and the loan fee.

Cardiff City have agreed a deal to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson on loan, according to fresh reports on Thursday night.

The Bluebirds have been embroiled in a battle with the likes of Swansea City, Nottingham Forest, Blackburn Rovers and Derby County for the player's services in recent days, with the Wales international having failed to secure a permanent move away to a Premier League club last week.

Now, though, Football Insider report that Cardiff on Thursday night agreed loan terms for 23-year-old Wilson in a huge twist.

The report also adds that both Swansea City and Bristol City, a late entry in the race for his signature, are preparing to step up their efforts to rival Cardiff for Wilson's services on deadline day.

Liverpool are said to be asking for a fee over more than £1m if they are to allow the Wrexham-born winger to leave on loan before Friday's 5pm deadline, a hurdle which has proved problematic for some Championship clubs.

Derby boss Phillip Cocu had poured cold water over the Rams' interest in Wilson, claiming any deal to bring him back to Pride Park was "very unlikely".

Odds of 1/5 suggest it's almost a done deal

If the figures being mentioned here are in any way accurate I'd much rather we signed the lad from Barnsley.

Paying any sort of loan fee is just throwing money away on a gamble to get promotion.

Wow this would be impressive. Got a feeling it’s going to be loans in only today. My guess is that the Woodrow deal is over and it we will be chasing Sanderson, Wilson and one other on loan. Also got a feeling Bennet will leave and not be replaced. We’ll go with Cunningham and Bagan. Also reckon flint will go. Just my feeling for what it’s worth

Could see all of that happening to be fair - good summary of where we're at with everything.

This would be a statement of intent. I hope it happens

Re: " Harry Wilson set to sign for Cardiff City "

Statement of intent would be the signings of Wilson, Sanderson, Woodrow and Austin.

Yeah I know 4 players! We could allow Flint out on loan to get match fit with proviso we can call him back if required.

Signing 4 would still leave us a bit thin but would certainly send out a great message.

Agree with the above, but also think Whyte may go as well.

Strange signing if the club manages to pull this off. No doubt he'll improve the starting 11 and provide the creativity we need. but with all the cost cutting thats been going on, its seems like a lot of money to spend on a loan. Brilliant if he gets us promoted, if not, we need to spend more money again next season to get a creative players in.

According to footballinsider247 he’s already in Cardiff having his medical! I think it’s a good signing for us if he does

I think the 3m is WITH penalty payments if he doesn't play enough. Clever wording from the daily fail.

Ssn quoting 1.5m so presume the rest are penalty clauses... but not sure if garaunteeing playing time is always a good idea! But shows intent and he can fulfil the no 10 role as hes an attacking player.

Its actually 1.2 their reporting i think its a ln amazing signing for us and we also have a fair few wales internationals in the first team squad which will ake t easier for vaulks, moore and wilson jel, wilson will be as good as bellamy was for us if we get austin also i expect us to be challenging for top two

Liverpool often put the minimum game time in as a clause, they did it before with the other lad we had off them.

Brilliant signing if true. But being a cynic, what will be the excuse for him not being available for Sunday? If he's fit, he should be the first name on the team sheet.

I really hope the £60,000 per week wages is well of the mark and is due to poor journalism.

I can't see us forking out 60k a week plus 1.2mill in a loan fee.

If he knew of the potential move while in Bulgaria I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Giggs had given him a gentle nudge in our direction. Him playing regularly behind Kiefar Moore has to be a bonus to Wales.
