MY VIEW: JOSH MURPHY MAGIC,KIETHER MOORE & WILSON TEAR PRES

Sat Feb 20, 2021 4:49 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

JOSH MURPHY MAGIC,KIETHER MOORE & WILSON TEAR PRESTON APART & PHILLIPS MAKES 2 PENALTY SAVES :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

What a brilliant match, it had everything :bluebird: :bluebird:

AFTER A 6 MATCH UNBEATEN START BY BIG MICK, CITY CONTINUED WITH THIS GREAT RUN OF RESULTS & BANG ANOTHER WIN & THATS NOW 5 IN A ROW :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

WHO SAID MICK MAcCARTHY PLAYS NEGATIVE FOOTBALL? EVERY GAME HAS GOT BETTER & MORE EXCITING TO WATCH :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

First-Half: Great start by Cardiff 1nil with in 2 mins :bluebird: and absolutely brilliant football by City for 40mins and City should of scored at least 3goals.

Second-Half: City started again well and bang, Josh Murphy scored with in a min & from there this game became an incredible match to watch :bluebird: :bluebird:

That now 17pts from a possible 21pts from Big Mick :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

MY MEN OF THE MATCH : JOSH MURPHY AMAZING / PHILLIPS UNBELIEVABLE SAVES :bluebird: :bluebird:

Big Mick was able to name a stronger bench today, but still included 2 Academy players Brown & Bagan.

10 years ago since City had a striker scoring 18 goals, Jay Bothroyd and with Kieffer Moore on 14 already, that looks like being beaten :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: Kieffer Moore has to be worth at least £10mill now :bluebird: :bluebird:

CARDIFF CITY 4 PRESTON 0 :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
H-T 1-0

Cardiff City: Phillips; Morrison, Flint, Nelson; Ng, Vaulks, Pack, Bennett; Wilson; Murphy, Moore.

Subs: Smithies, Brown, Bagan, Sang, Bacuna, Williams, Harris, Ojo, Watters.

Morrison went down in the Preston penalty area.

2mins GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Preston (Moore 2) :bluebird: :bluebird:

Kieffer Moore converted! The striker hammered his effort emphatically into the roof of the net. 1-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff then were all over Preston, Morrison making the Preston goalie make a brilliant save, Wilson & Murphy tearing their defence apart :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff dominated for 40mins and should of scored more goals., Preston came back in to the game for the last 5mins.

H-T 1-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

GOAL! Cardiff City 2-0 Preston (Murphy 46) :bluebird:

Murphy scored! What a goal! :bluebird:

Cardiff broke through, Harry Wilson and he slid through Josh Murphy, who took a touch and rifled a low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. 2nil :bluebird: :bluebird:

Tremendous counter-attack.

Preston came back at Cardiff, Ben Whiteman curled in the corner before Browne headed from 18 yards, Phillips was made to tip it over the bar.

60mins: Josh Murphy off, Sheyi Ojo on.

64 mins PENALTY
for Preston!

Harry Wilson shoulder to shoulder with Anthony Gordon and the referee thinks there's enough in it for a penalty.
Saved! Phillips saved :bluebird: :bluebird: but Flint slides in and fouls Gallagher on the follow-up!
Another penalty
Phillips saved again! Incredible! :bluebird: :bluebird:

Evans went low and to Phillips' left and he saves again. Wonderful from the City keeper. :bluebird: :bluebird:

70th min Harry Wilson off, Bacuna on.

GOAL! Cardiff City 3-0 Preston (Pack 71) :bluebird: :bluebird:

Goal! Marlon Pack!

An almighty mix-up from Preston. Liam Lindsay and the keeper left it to each other before Iversen attempted to clear. He volleys it straight at Lindsay and Ojo chases it down.

He sends in a lovely cross to Kieffer Moore, but his diving header is saved spectacularly by Iversen, only for Pack to hammer home the follow-up. 3nil :bluebird: :bluebird:

Moore off, Harris on.

GOAL! Cardiff City 4-0 Preston :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Mark Harris scores!

Another error from Lindsay! An errant backpass allows Mark Harris to intercept with his first touch, round the keeper and tap home. 4nil :bluebird: :bluebird:

Phillips made some more great saves.

Just an incredible / exciting match to watch :bluebird: :bluebird:

Outstanding performance. Our best performance for a long, long time.

Everyone was brilliant.

The team spirit looks as good as it's ever been :ayatollah:

Dillon Phillips just beats Josh Murphy to MOTM for me :bluebird:

Exactly this, Phillips looks a hell of a find. Superb performance by the whole side, equally as assured without the ball as they were with it. Three points, some good results above us and a huge boost to the goal difference to boot, happy days :bluescarf: :bluescarf:.

Brilliant and commanding performance with no-one in line for the traditional (for some) 'Forum kicking' today

Murphy, Moore and Phillips the outstanding candidates for me but I give it to Phillips for his game-changing penalty saves; either one of which could have changed the game negatively and drained Preston of any real belief

Ched Evans? :? Who asked for him to sign here? :?

As I said elsewhere, a better predator off the field than he is on it these days... ;)

Ultimately, a great win for the Bluebirds against a tough and decent Preston North End

Four goals

Three points

Two penalty saves from Dillon Phillips

One set closer to the Play Off places

Next up a massive 6-pointer game against AFC Bournemouth midweek and the Bluebirds march on...

What a turn around since Mick McCarthy arrived...  :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird: :D

It’s an unbelievable turn around.

MM has got us playing on the front foot which is exactly what we should be doing with this squad. Under Harris Pack would never have been in the 6 yard box for a tap in!

Murphy was really really good today - McCarthy has done a fantastic job with him. When you have Murphy on form, Moore just brilliant, Wilson always a threat it makes it so difficult for the defenders - and then we can bring Ojo who chased everything down to create one and Harris who saw exactly what was going to happen with that back pass and finished brilliantly.

And fair play to Flint - he has done really well over the last few weeks and played a massive role in making us more solid.

Brilliant performance this is what our squad are capable of. MM playing the right players in they right place and formation. With tomlin still to come back what talented game changing players up front. Wilson off for tomlin and Murphy off for Ojo at 60 mins or so and we are a really frightening team.

Tuesday will be a good test to see how far we come but I see nothing but a win for city. Way teams are stuttering we be making top two nervous in a few weeks.
