They should have waited a bit longer to have given him that two year contract

Are you suggesting that the management has now relaxed a bit?

People on here were saying we had to give him a new contract as he was going to Celtic. He was about 50th favourite according to the bookies, he was never going to get that job or a better club than us! If we’re not in the playoffs by Christmas he’ll be paid off!

Club rushed it with the new contract, because Celtic were keen on him.

Of course he is... like all good managers mick got players playing like man c to get a new contract once he achieved that he simply told players you can now lose games if you like? Lets Just simply ignore other results its only last 6 that count... :o

Injuries since he signed new contract :
Both Left Backs

Bennett injured against Derby and out for season followed by Bagan at Huddersfield 3 days later with no return date

Centre Back
Nelson missed 2 games before internationals now back however Morrison played on with injury against Jacks and is now out and has missed last 2 games

Right Back
NG injured against Stoke and missed last 3 games .

Add to that no natural cover for a tired looking and out of form Moore as I think Mick let Glatzel go expecting to get Rhodes from Wednesday which fell thru on deadline day.

So we have no recognised full backs and our Captain all out and with our striker having to play almost 90 minutes every game and featuring in 3 internationals last week so is it any wonder that the results have tailed off? Just as Liverpool have found this season , you can't expect to play less experienced players and others out of position and get the same results.

That said, I don't get why we played without any creative players yesterday other than Jonny Williams unless the plan was to keep it tight then use them later on when Wednesday tired ? The line up looked to be too defensive and slow so when we went one down so early the game plan was ruined . We then conceded an excellent goal followed by a set piece which both could have been better defended but the actual shots were unstoppable. 4th and 5th were counter attacks which further highlighted lack of pace in the team and being disorganised at the back .

To be fair look at the 1st 4 results point away from home is good defeat to Watford who are flying point against Stoke not brilliant but not a disaster great result against the jacks. The last 2 results have been bad possiblely injuries catching up with us need a positive end to the season now

Agree with this.

It was very popular when he was awarded his new contract.

I don't think its MM, but he did set us up like that yesterday, but let's look at yesterdays line up

Philips has been good to keep out a top keeper

Sang - Couldn't get into a L2 starting lineup but looked ok at wingback. Lots of slack given his age and not natural position, but is he a starter in a playoff championship team ? Jury out

Flint - Billy no mates this season, looked great since his comeback although a little more shaky without Morrison

Nelson- Good cover from the bench hasn't done much wrong but passing the ball seems alien to him, we'll never get a bid in from a rival for him

Brown, another who looks OK, may make the grade but won't be vying or a starting birth if we reverted back to a 4

Ralls- Never a left-back nor wingback, yes he is left-footed but he is a championship CM (been promoted to the prem)

Pack - Too slow for a 2 man midfield

Vaulks needs his mirror image in Ralls with him to be at his best (IMO) then have 3 attacking players in front of him

Bacuna- an advanced disruptor that is all. Those two goals are going to cost us a lot of poor performances. IMO a CM who is different from Ralls/Vaulks as he has a bit of pace

Williams - Probably need to go to Spain to be seen at his best. The power of the championship always appears too much. Better at International level than club

Moore - Looks gone, never ran the channel because he knew he wasn't getting the ball

Its not a team that will scare a lot of clubs, we are devoid of quality. I guess Josh was injured, Ojo can't seem to get going in this formation, Harry will move on to better, Junior looks like he is going. So we are hoping one or two of the kids can make the jump. Colwell and Harris need a couple of hours now to see if it's them

Too many key injuries. Hindsight is wonderful but should have dumped the 5221 earlier as NG & Bennett made it work effectively with Morrison leading.
