The older generation will remember Wilding in a City shirt. Can't quite remember when I seen him play but I think it was around the time of Dave Jones era....? Playing for Morecombe today in the League 2 Play off Final.

No, it was definately Wildigs header. The only thing I remember him doing.

Whenever we talk about young players coming through, we never speak of Wildig.

No he wasn't good enough for Championship level but 316 appearances within the professional football pyramid are not bad statistics to have

Wildig and the lad from Wycombe, I forget his name, who played a few weeks back at the ccs. Anyway these two lads have played over 700 games between them-albeit in the lower leagues. It was City who brought these Players through. If we had kept hold of them, who knows what would have become of their careers and, again, would Cardiff have got fees for them. Does make you wonder.

we left 10 under 23s go today mate and who knows maybe one or two might find half decent pro or semi pro clubs , work hard and end up having a lower league career.... but you cant just keep stacking up not good enough players just in case you might get 50k for 1.....

if i am remembering correctly Wildig was a great academy player for us, very much in the mould of a whitts, the club at the time i believe realised he wouldnt be good enough to compete with whitts and wanted him to go out on loan which he did to ( i want to say Shrewsbury) but then suffered an injury, and then Malky didnt rate him and released him. great to see our former academy products go on to have great careers, regardless of which league and team.

Oshilaja is another who has done well in the lower leagues - Wimbledon and Charlton I think.
