' Craig Bellamy / Rubin Colwill '

Thu Jun 03, 2021 9:50 am

Just had a good chat with Bells as he is here in Santa Ponsa.

Rubin Colwill was one of his kids he brought through, when a few had their doubts. Bells said the kid was naturally gifted from a young kid when he knew him at 13 yrs old and Bells had no doubts about him making it.

A few had their doubts about him when he was 16yrs old, Bells use to still spk to the coaches and said this kid will go all the way.

Rubin is from a down to earth family who will keep him level headed and is an honest kid, polite and never ever big headed.

He said Rubin will go a long long way :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Bells is loving bringing the kids through as manager of Anderlecht U23's and said kids are the future for clubs and future lifeline, they recently sold two of theirs for £8mill & £12mill.

I just wish Bells was still at our club and part of the Academy at least, big mistake by City's board.

Wish the board would bring him home. Obviously has loads to offer.

Wonder if he was considered for the Wales job to replace Giggs?

Bellers is not a yes man. I doubt anyone on the Welsh board gave him a second thought.

He was interviewed and was a close second when Giggs was given the job.

I thought he was sacked for bullying. (I may be wrong in which case correct me). If that was the case why on earth would we want him back?

He bullied NO one and never has, just fraught talking and old school :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright:

Show me where it was proven he bullied???
The lad never made it, so the parents complained and the board never stood by Bellers and the same this year with our other two great Accademy coaches, so disappointing as No official complaint was made all done through the Daily Mail and taken no further.

Yep. Bellamy is no bully. Just make sure you sing karaoke when he tells you to, or he'll smash your legs with a golf club and never ask him for a race on Mill Lane. Seriously, he's a marmite character, but not the type you'd want around children. The club did the right thing. Safeguarding and all that..

Obviously precious parents not willing to accept their little boy not good enough. Shut-up and send him out for a job.

If it was ever proven he bullied anyone, I highly doubt he would be allowed to work at a big club like Anderlecht.

I've met him several times and the last thing he appeared as was a bully. Never believed it myself.

Big difference between being a bully and a good, strict coach.

The key point here is bringing kids through to then potentially sell. This is how the model has worked for successful premier league clubs like Southampton and is why David Hughes has been brought in. I think the days of inflated transfer fees may be at an end but if Colwill is highly successful the club must command a decent fee eventually. I hope they have learnt the lesson following the sale of Ramsay though. £4.8 million still makes me cross.

My late father always said I was nothing special.... I have continually proven him right.
