I hear what you're saying Sam.

But tell that to the black players who receive huge amounts of abuse.

I am not saying taking the knee if helping with that, but Ian Wright has spoken eloquently about the abuse he, his sons and other black players receive. Volumes of abuse that goes beyond a few racist nutters online..

And 99% of this abuse started because of this wokeness. One extremist behaviour encourages extremist behaviour in the other direction. Black players wasn’t getting the abuse until this knee shit. It isn’t right the abuse but the real cause of it is the knee.

That’s a good record considering there are upwards of 30m people watching football in one form or another in the UK, and with most abuse on social media, it is clear that a very small number of individuals have a problem. This could be sorted by facial recognition on SM accounts. But there’s too much money at stake, so they do nothing.

It has always gone on but a few points:

1) It is now more widely reported
2) People who are likely to send racist abuse now have more technology / platforms to do so, hence an increase
3) Right wing rhetoric (Trump/Johnson) have enabled racists to be more vocal (there is a direct correlation between Johnsons 'letterbox' comment and people going up and abusing Muslim - Islamophobic incidents rose by 375 per cent in the week after Boris Johnson compared veiled Muslim women to “letterboxes” research has shown).

The good thing about this thread is that no one is defending racist abuse - just how we deal with it, so at least we are all mainly on the same page!

correct..nobody is defending racism..... have to point out , thats not how everyone sees it or maybe wants to see it...ive seen the people who have booed described as football hooligans....racists... and brexiteers...and someone on this thread has put up a silly video ...... the world we live in cant have anyone not agree with one thing without being labelled 2 or 3 other things even if goalposts need to be moved...
this whole BLM thing and kneeling is a great example of this...it was in support of BLM but when it became crystal clear that BLM wasnt exactly what most initially thought it was but instead of admitting those against it actually had a point and then dropping it.....they instead rebranded and the only good reason for that is to maintain division.... nobody was booing kick it out...or any other equality or anti racism campaign at football ... yet here we are with fans now booing their own teams , not because they are racists but because A) they associate the gesture with BLM which is a political movement and B} dont want politics in sport...
booers are not understanding you see ? ... well yes they are.....they understand that there has been a very cynical change from it being booing BLM to now booing the new message ..have to ask why...why would you want a percentage of your own fans to be seen negatively ...

Much of the so called increase in “hate crime” was down to a change in how they’re recorded. No need for witnesses or anything else to corroborate, people were saying Nigel Farrage said something racist on TV and that was included in the figures. Personally I think the burka or it’s Jewish equivalent is a ridiculous way to dress and poking fun at it is perfectly acceptable. If ripping the piss out of a bloke for wearing a kilt is ok same rules must apply.

Much of it is now caught on CCTV and on mobile phones.

There is a difference between me and you taking the piss out of someone in a quiet corner of a pub in friendly jest, than a young man screaming racist abuse in the face of a Muslim lady in a burka.

How about a racist murder of a white lad by the name of Bradley Gledhill. You know, the one that has been plastered all over the newspapers and the main story on all the tv news programmes following the verdicts in the trial. Strangely, not a hate crime apparently:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-57338005

The two lads with him were seriously injured. Walking down the road and out of nowhere, it happens.

you just made those 2 scenarios up to suit... how about an extreme comparison the other way around.... ?
every single time someone does what you have here it waters down real racism....

Most of these prima donas with their millions have very rarely encountered real racism. It belittles those that have, like Jack Johnson in America who suffered dog abuse of racism. The abuse he suffered was un imaginable but that man just shrugged it off with a smile and then took it out on his opponents in the ring.
For me and everyone I have encountered watching the city it isn’t the colour of the player it’s the player in the shirt. I never have looked at the colour of th player in my mind a legend is a legend no matter what.

There are other examples.

Anyone know about Kriss Donald/ It's a few years ago now but read and weep:
