Bjorn Kuipers will take charge of the Euro 2020 Final.

He will be the first Dutchman to referee a European Championship Final.

Kuipers has taken charge of three previous games in this tournament, showing a total of ten yellow cards and no red cards. He has awarded one penalty, which was to Spain against Slovakia.

He also took charge of nine Champions League games last season, including one of the semi-finals.

He has previous taken charge of the 2011 UEFA Super Cup, the 2013 Europa League Final, the 2018 Europa League Final and the 2014 Champions League Final.

His assistant referees will be Sander Van Roekel and Erwin Zeinstra, who are both also Dutch.

Carlos Del Cerro Grande of Spain will be fourth official.

The assistant referee reserve will be Juan Carlos Yuste Jimenez of Spain.

Leading the VAR team will be Bastian Dankert of Germany. He will have two fellow Assuring him in Christian Gittelman and Marco Fritz, as well as a Dutchman in Pol Van Boekel.

I pay for a tv licence in the UK and normally watch the news. If they want to put a special programme on about the England fans, flags, history etc., then do so, but swamping the news day after day is moronic. Yesterday they even had an interview with a young chap who had won a ticket to the match and even found out where he is sitting!

I don't live in Italy and don't pay to watch their tv, so I really don't care how much of their news has been taken over by the sort of nonsense we have had to put up with.

We've not heard the end of 1966 since 1966!

They somehow win this and Gawd elp it...we will NEVER hear the end of it!

The English media frenzy is the same EVERY 2 years when a football tournament comes around.

55 years ago they won. Win tonight and it'll be another historic moment.

They talk about 1066 quite a bit... and they lost that :)

The Euro 2020 Final is underway between Italy and England at Wembley.

It'll either be Coming Home or Coming Rome.

HALF TIME: ITALY 0-1 ENGLAND

Luke Shaw's 2nd minute goal is enough to give England the lead at half time. It was the quickest ever goal in a European Championship Final.

England were the better team for most of the first half, although Italy did start to put some pressure on in the last ten minutes of the half.

Quality from the ref so far, letting everything run. If more refs were like this, players wouldn't throw themselves around so much.

England look like they have this. Italy can't go around them or through the middle. Southgate got this spot on.... Lets see if Manchini changes it.

Its going to be painful down the CCS if they do win this... Every away team :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Agree.

Kuipers is the best referee in the world at the moment, in my opinion.

He never panics, doesn't throw around yellow cards like they're going out of fashion and doesn't give in to pressure.

Perfect referee to take charge of a final.

He also doesn't need to do this, does it because he enjoys it. He's worth around £12m because he co-founded a supermarket in Holland.

Stats possession 65 to 35 for Italy.... attempts 6 to 1 in favour Italy..... corners 1 to 2 in favour of England.

Stats only tell you so much. England were in control for 35 minutes of that first half.

Long way to go though and I expect Italy to be much better.

Italy much better in the second half, as I expected. Deserved that equaliser.

Chiesa is running the game for them and England need to find a way to stop him.

Jorginho lucky not to be sent off for a very bad challenge on Grealish.

Five minutes of extra time to go.
