ANOTHER VIEW: NOTTM FOREST V CARDIFF CITY

Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:48 pm

To some extent this was a game that would typically see the Bluebirds capitulate against one of the Championship's struggling sides and early criticism from the usual source of the team selection saw some usual people

The game started brightly with both sides having half chances and the Forest defence looking vulnerable. Hard to say either side had the upper hand and either could have got the opener; but it was Forest who got the opener through a more than decent goal from former City target, Lewis Grabban

Nothing too much to shout about in the first half, although City looked brighter inside the opposition box and it ends with Forest in front

HALF-TIME SCORE: NOTTM FOREST 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY
Scorer: Lewis Grabban

The second half started with City looking bright but nothing really happened until Mick McCarthy decided to make the double substitution of bringing on Keiffer Moore and Rubin Colwill and whatva substitution it was...

53 seconds later, Moore and Colwill combine to give the latter the equaliser; hid first for the club

From that moment on, City were in the acendancy and started to rattle Forest as they got more and more niggly and frustrated

City could/should have scored more but the icing on the cake came when Rubin Colwill got a sublime second and ultimately the game's winning goal :notworthy:

Forest huffed and puffed but looked out for the count as another game bypassed them and City looked very comfortable as they saw the game out to the rapturous appreciation of the teavellimg faithful

KEY MOMENT: MICK McCARTHY'S DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION LITRRALLY CHANGED THE GAME...

FINAL SCORE: NOTTM FOREST 1 - 2 CARDIFF CITY
Scorer: Lewis Grabban (NF), Rubin Colwill (2) (CCFC)
