If Sheff Utd get promoted this season then 5 of the 6 clubs that have came down in the last two seasons have been promoted again. On top of that only 4 clubs that have never been in the premier league before have been promoted since 2011. Most clubs re-invest to try and go back up.

Except if the players you bring down are duds on long contracts then you struggle like us.

Parachute payments have been very unfair in the pademic with all other clubs not been able to bring in any revenue due to empty stadiums
Usually players scatter and leave when been relegated or the club get them off the books so its no suprise to see the teams coming down going back up
Different when we dropped down camarassa gunnarsson etc leaving and we went into the prem with the weakest budget of any club going into the prem but thats another topic

More often than not relegated clubs don’t bounce back within the lifetime of the Parachute Payment and the EFL is littered with ex Premier League clubs (Stoke , Swansea , Sunderland , Portsmouth , Birmingham, West Brom etc)
