I grew up a couple of streets away from Phil and we were the same age. We weren't really friends, but when we got older we'd have a chat about city and he'd tell me about his progress, he was always very humble and quietly spoken. I can remember he frightened the life out of Kevin Keegan during a Wales-England game Keegan mentioned his physical strength when interviewed after the game. Phil would admit himself that he wasn't the most skilful player, but if all the team had given what he did on the park, we'd have won the league. RIP big man, glad to have known you.

You’ve absolutely described him perfectly on and off the pitch

One in a million and i mean that loved our club pationately .For me he set the bench mark that still exists today and thats win loose or draw give 100% .phils family set up a surprise for me as i said he was my all time favourite player.next day phil turned up on site with a signed book still got that book .Never forgot it lovely man and his pationate for city was there to see.Told me how they used to run up Leckwith hill to train and much more stuff. A Humble man a nice man that wore that shirt with so much pride will always be Mr Cardiff City.Glad you did that for him Annis least he deserved.

My first games watching City down Ninian Park Started in 1969, in the old creosoted wooden canton Stand with my dad, rosette, bobble hat and scarf

Going every week Home and a fair few away games.

After my dad Passed in 1972, still as a young lad, I would attend Ninian and remember Phil as almost an ever present. He must have been the first name on the teamsheet week in week out and looking back at my old programmes (with review magazine inside) he is very rarely missing

From 1969 up until 1977 I was a week in week out regular until I joined the Navy and even then would always attend Ninian and away games when home on leave.

I never knew Phil personally But I am sure he was exactly as others have described him. RIP Phil and God Bless your family.

A statue of this TRUE Cardiff City Great should be progressed if at all possible.

We are all getting older and the older you get the more friends, family and people you remember are passing away.

Try to live life to the fullest

Played against him when he played for the South Wales Police in the Welsh league. Told him I was a massive city fan. He still went straight through me in a tackle. Lovely bloke RIP Phil
