MY VIEW:WHAT A START FOR CARDIFF WITH LOCAL LAD POOLE PUTTIN

MY VIEW:WHAT A START FOR CARDIFF WITH LOCAL LAD POOLE PUTTING IT IN HIS OWN NET AND FROM THEN ON CARDIFF CITY WERE IN TOTAL CONTROL OF THE GAME & THE WIN WAS NEVER IN DOUBT:

Cardiff totally then controlled the first/half with Robertson, Robinson, Rubin,Tanner, O’Dowda , Goutas etc leading the way and the defence totally solid.

As Rubin was everywhere again tonight, Cardiff fans sang Rubin Colwill is one of our own.”

Over all a complete team performance all round, Big test next week as WBA Away.

We’ve beaten relegation threatened Plymouth and bottom club Pompey and played fantastic in both games.

It just shows we do have a lot of quality players.

Pompey had Cardiff born and ex city Accademy player Regan Poole in their team, as well as Marlon Pack and Josh Murphy.

Another clean sheet for Cardiff City and Alnwick in total command between the posts.

My man of the match either Rubin or Tanner

FIRST-HALF: Cardiff were in total control and never let Pompey get in to the game.

6th min:GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Portsmouth (Poole OG )
Perry Ng hammers a low cross to the back post and Welshman Regan Poole slides in and sticks it in the bottom corner inadvertently.

13 mins:Cardiff City 2-0 Portsmouth (Robinson)
Goal! Robinson hammers home from close range!
Goutas flicks on Robertson's corner and Robinson finds himself clear at the back post. He smacks his effort into the underside of the bar from just two yards out.

Pompey fans on the 36th min sang we’ve had a shot

Fair play to Pompey Fans they were even singing in the 90th min.

SECOND-HALF: Cardiff continued to attack and had shot after shot, incredible for a team that under Bulut could not shoot.

Rubin Colwill was involved in nearly everything and time and time again he did runs and put the ball in the box.

66th min: Turnbull off for Siopis.
Robertson off for Rinomhota.

78th: Double sub for City. Willock and Meite on. El Ghazi and Tanner off.

84min: Robinson off, Kanga on.

CARDIFF CITY 2 PORTSMOUTH 0
H-T 2-0

Crowd 18,534

Away Support 2,413 Pompey

Cardiff City : Alnwick; Ng, Chambers, Goutas, O'Dowda; Robertson, Turnbull; Tanner, Colwill, El Ghazi; Robinson.

Subs: Horvath, Daland, Fish, Bagan, Siopis, Rinomhota, Willock, Meite, Kanga

Game was done in the first half.

A good win and now have to build on it at WBA.

We dropped off a bit when Turnbull and Robertson went off but Pompey never looked like scoring.

I agree on all accounts there Ned, very happy, but the real tests start away at WBA

A good old school proper team performance, tanner gets man of the match for me he busted a gut all game and then makes a ditching tackle after running the full length of the field!

Turnbull once again fantastic I gave him so much crap since he's been here but credit where credit is due

Chambers still worries the shit out of me and I feel daland to take his place ASAP I feel we would be solid

Now on to West Brom a point away will be massive, but take all three then the momentum will be with the team to see how far we can push

Overall extremely happy tonight

Very comfortable tonight. Portsmouth were awful. My only criticism was our finishing. We should have put that game to bed really. So pleased be out of the relegation zone. Can we push on? I am really intrigued by the game on Saturday. Have this group of players massively under achieved or are we a bottom half team who have just won against poorer teams?
If Riza wins on Saturday I think we give him the job until the end of the season.

Agreed a good old fashioned performance and Turnbull has improved drastically and so many others.

Bulut had stopped them going forward and believing in themselves.

Bulut has turned out one of the most dire managers ever for us in the end.

Another brilliant performance. Took our foot off the gas towards the end but I believe that was due to the substitutions, we still looked solid but not as potent going forward. I love Tanners passion and the effort he puts in especially defensively, Colwill starting to show what all the hype was about.
Also nice to see Perry hitting some form again, since playing with Tanner it seems to have opened up his attacking play. The deeper midfield two are just class acts, lovely watching them play football. Defensively we look solid but I’d definitely prefer to see Daland alongside Goutas who in recent performances is back to his best also. Huge test on Saturday, and if we come away with anything I’d certainly approve Riza getting the job.

I agree Pompey like Plymouth were awful.

We should of probably beaten these by 5, on the plus side were shooting and creating chances

Yes and Bulut continued to lie about him, for some reason he had it in for him, Tanner, Rubin, etc

I don't know why you laud the Pompey fans Annis, because they are complete scum.

All well and good to have a chat, but to take cheap shots against my Bro, having a quiet beer after the match, and then run away as the melee ensued, especially when a bus full of City fans ground to a halt when they could see the 6 of us were totally out numbered.........that day I lost all respect for those pompey scum. Fact! :bluebird:

My good friend Jim,

They are Scum the ones that have done this, but every club has some fans like that.

But I am applauding their large away support on a Tuesday night when bottom of the league.

Could have and should have been 5 or 6-0 but well happy with 2-0, lifted us out the bottom 3.

Only negative really on the match was when Meite and Willock came on we lost the width up top but apart from that another impressive performance.

Not keen of Riza as our manager as really don’t think he’s the way forward, however, if he’s gonna get performances like the last 2 games out of the lads then give him and extended run and see what he can do, give him a rolling temporary contract, don’t tie him down to anything long term, say 3 month rolling contract and go from there

If it hadn't been for their substitute keeper it would have been 5 or 6, he was out to prove a point to their manager & did really well when he came on. Some of the misses we had were awful as well, Robinson putting it in row z with all the time in the world to pick his spot being the highlight of the misses.
